you need to boot without a startup sequence and REM out the lines that
are for the CD-Rom drive, ie put ";" in front of all of the lines that
refer to the Asim Driver and that might work I hope.  To boot up with
no startup-sequence, hold both mouse buttons and you wil see a boot menu.
click on the bottom button that says startup-sequence enable and then disable
it.  Then type "ed s:user-startup" and put the ";"s in front of all
references to the  Asim Drivers.
